bulletChildren's' event was hosted by the Northern Kiwanis; (customarily Saturday in the middle of April), promptly at 10:00am.  Children ages 10 and under.  Main Lower meadow of Whetstone Park.  Call 645-3217 for details.
 
bulletDuckling Day
bulletHosted by the Whetstone Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library; The event (customarily held immediately after the Easter Egg Hunt). 2009 is the 23rd annual event.  Children create duckling costumes and parade around the library (3909 North High Street) and adjacent Recreation Center. Call 645-2152 for information.
 
bullet Columbus Rose Festival
bulletWas hosted by the City of Columbus Recreation & Parks Department; June 14 & 15, 2008, 10:00am to 8:00pm.  Park of Roses inside Whetstone Park.  Nonprofit & vendor booths available.  Call 645-3350 for details.
 
bulletCivitan's Sundays Evenings at the Park of Roses Gazebo
bulletOngoing summer concert series hosted by the Northern Columbus Civitan and the City of Columbus Recreation & Parks Department between late May and the end of August.  Summer 2008 series has been completed. (In the event of rain, concerts are held in the enclosed shelter house at the west entry to the Park of Roses.)
 
bulletJuly 4th Community Breakfast
bulletHosted by and benefiting the Clintonville Community Fund; Saturday, July 4, 2009.  7:30 - 10:30 am.  52st annual event.  Enclosed Shelter house at the entry to the Park of Roses inside Whetstone Park.  Nonprofit booths available. Volunteer opportunities. Tickets will be sold at the door. $6 for adults, $2 for children between age 1 and 5.  Children under 1 for free.
 
bulletJuly 4th Festival & Fireworks
bulletHosted by Clintonville July 4th Celebration with the support of community organizations and businesses.  59th annual event on Saturday. July 4, 2009. Children's events including fishing derby and play area.  Afternoon and evening stage shows.  10:00 fireworks.    Sponsorship and hospitality tent opportunities.  Volunteer opportunities.
 
bullet Clintonville Homes Tour
bulletHosted by and benefiting the Clintonville Community Fund, with the support of the North Area Real Estate Association.  26th Annual.  Sunday, September 14, 2008. Volunteer opportunities.  Public tour of private residences and the newly opened Whetstone Community Center.  Tickets are available online and at area businesses. The event proceeds are pledged to the Whetstone Community Center project.
 
bulletArts & Music Festival
bulletHosted by the Whetstone Recreation Center Community Council.  Annual event.  Saturday September 6, 2008, 10:00 to 5:00.  Juried show with crafts persons from across the State and musical performances.  Sponsorship opportunities.  Volunteer opportunities. Call 268-1128 (Barbara Kocab) for information.
