Welcoming and managing legacy donations for Clintonville charitable projects... Celebrating, promoting, and fostering the sense of community in the Clintonville neighborhood.

Clintonville is a north-central Columbus neighborhood of 27,000 residents that encompasses more than 80 subdivisions that were platted between 1890 and 1990.

The Clintonville Community Fund (CCF) makes grants to groups (not individuals) whose services benefit Clintonville residents and visitors in one or more of these areas of public life:

Projects funded by The Columbus Foundation's "Clintonville Fund" include:

May 2008: Adena Brook Community - $1,000 for educational signage at the High Street at Overbrook Drive 'raingarden' project.

May 2008: North Area Real Estate Association - $1,000 for community landscaping improvements at the Whetstone Community Center.

May 2008: Clintonville Woman's Club - $1,000 for landscaping improvements along entry driveway.

May 2008: Clintonville July 4th Celebration, Inc - $1,000 for general support of annual community celebration event.

April 2008: North Columbus Community Band - $750 for installation of ceiling fans in Whetstone High School band room.

April 2008: The Old Beechwold Association - $900 for restoration and beautification of ravine and parks.

April 2008: Dominion Baseball & Softball League - $1,000 for upkeep and maintenance of community field at Dominion Middle School for youth sports.

November 2007: Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center - $1,000 for support of  Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry's program to provide processed venison to the CRC's food pantry.

Summer 2007: Whetstone Renovation Initiative - $12,000 towards the expenses of a professional consultant to coordinate the implementation of a community fund raising initiative for the proposed $500,000 community support for the renovated and enlarged Whetstone Community (Recreation) Center.

Winter 2007: Clintonville Graffiti Busters - $200 for supplies for the volunteer team to erase graffiti from area buildings and structures.

Winter 2007: Clintonville Graffiti Reward Fund- $500 towards the community's creation of an award fund for persons who are responsible for the arrest and convict of graffiti taggers.

August 2006: Farmers and Hunter Feeding The Hungry, Columbus Chapter - $1,000 for support of program to provide processed venison to the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center food pantry.

August 2006: Friends of the Whetstone Library - $1,000 for replacement of two benches in the Whetstone Library reading garden in partnership with the Columbus Metropolitan Library.

August 2006: Graffiti Busters - $200 for supplies in support of the volunteer program of tackling community graffiti by quick response teams in partnership with the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center.

August 2006: Whetstone Renovation Initiative - $11,000 towards the expenses of a professional consultant to explore the community's interest and capacity to support the renovation and expansion of the Whetstone Recreation Center, in partnership with the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and the Whetstone Renovation Initiative.

June 2006: Friends of the Whetstone Library - $1,000 for the purchase of a second Mr. Duckling costume for the annual Duckling Parade.

October 2005: Whetstone Renovation Initiative - $800 for support of community committee's exploration of building renovation enhancements with the City of Columbus, including a community survey.

June 2005: Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center - $1,000 for support of the building window replacement project.

November 2004: Farmers and Hunter Feeding The Hungry, Columbus Chapter - $500 for support of program to provide processed venison to the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center food pantry.

June 2004: Clintonville Farmers Market - $1,000 for support of purchase of marketing and event supplies.  Clintonville/Beechwold Community Resources Center (CRC) fiscal agent.

June 2004: Flags on High Project - $1,000 for support of project to replace deteriorated flags and to add new American flags along North High Street.  CCF fiscal agent.

June 2004: Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW) - $500 to support ongoing Backyard Water Conservation project.

June 2004: Glenola Heights Block Watch Association - $500 for support of project to secure decorative planters to barricade alley.  CRC fiscal agent.

December 2003: Firehouse #19 Dedication Project - $1,515 in items for community gift including clothes washer and dryer and selected framed photographs.  CCF fiscal agent.

June 2003: Clintonville Historical Society - $1,500 for support of Clintonville history book.

June 2003:  Clintonville July 4th Celebration, Inc. - $1,000 for support of the 2003 Independence Day celebration in Whetstone Park.

June 2003:  Friends of the Ravines - $1,000 for support of area ravine restoration projects.|

June 2002: Clintonville/Beechwold Community Resources Center - $1,000 for support of Teen Drop-in Center project.

June 2002: Elder Choices of Central Ohio - $1,000 for support of project of providing 35 residents with emergency response systems.

June 2002:  Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed - $1,000 for support of purchase of education display.
 

bullet

Grants are distributed from the endowment fund created by local benefactors and contributions from individual donors.  Additional revenue is raised through the CCF's sponsorship of events such as the July 4th Community Breakfast and the September Clintonville Homes Tour.

The CCF works directly with you and your financial advisor(s) when you choose to include Clintonville in your charitable giving and in your estate planning.  The Columbus Foundation serves as the administrator for the endowment fund.

bullet CCF is host of the www.clintonville.org informational Website and CCF provides fiscal agent services, customarily without a fee, to unincorporated community organizations.
